Welcome to this Aidpreneur.com training on the kickoff meeting for RFAs, RFPs and RFQs. I’m Stephen Ladek, host of the Terms of reference podcast and principal international solution group. At this stage, you or your company has been selected for a project, you’ve negotiated and executed your contract and you’ve completed your hand over to your project management team. You’re ready to start your work and, I always recommend, this begins with a kickoff meeting.
clear on all terms and the nuts and bolts of how you will deliver your project and your specific outputs. If you are an independent professional, the handover and the kickoff may often be the same event. However it’s still important to have a clear “starting moment” to the work that you’ll do, and it’s also important to make sure you have clear definitions and expectations for what you are supposed to deliver. This training has two goals: first to discuss the essential information that you need to cover in your kickoff meeting and second, best practices for how to handle the kickoff meeting so that you begin the project is a partner, rather than a contractor, and make sure that you are in the driver seat.
You may find that some of the information that we cover in this training is very similar to what we discussed in the contract negotiation training. However these two processes, while connected, truly have lives of their own and present unique challenges and nuances. As a reminder, this training is focused on RFAs, RFPs and RFQs. I’ll be talking about overseeing and managing a process that requires specific deliverables at specific times for specific problem. If you’re social enterprise, but advocacy group or the creative and new technology, for example, you may find some discrepancies around how you manage the work that you deliver for your clients. We’ve developed other trainings that are specific to your needs in other sections here at Aidpreneur.
The next section of this training will focus on the essential information you need to cover in the kickoff meeting. Thank you for watching this training on the kickoff meeting for RFAs, RFPs and RFQs. Remember if you have any questions please email us at training@Aidpreneur.com.
