A few years ago I had the chance to spend a bit of time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with Medecins Sans Frontieres. Thanks to problems on the client side, the project I was working on didn’t pan out, but I snapped a lot of photographs (the purpose of the trip) and from those I made a few comics.
In Kabizo, in war-torn North Kivu province, I met a logistician named Hayato, known to all as Toto. I spent the day and part of another with Toto and his colleagues, and he explained his work. I made a handful of comics, and a full-length comic book.
